What happened to me?
Until a while ago I had the perfect life, like in the movies. I was a successful young executive working in London for a big company in the tallest skyscraper in Canary Wharf, living in my central city apartment and enjoying all the pleasures that London has to offer to someone like me. Everything was going so well…
Until one day, when I was having one of the most fun nights of my life, I noticed a buzzing in my ears and I started hearing a horrible, non-stop beeping sound.
The next morning I went to see the specialist doctor and I was diagnosed with tinnitus.
I didn’t know it yet, but my life was about to change forever.
Without medical treatment to be able to cling to and with the Internet full of pages with misleading information, the only solution was to analyse every information about tinnitus on my own.
With the help of my father, a chemist and researcher, with over than 30 years of experience working for the prestigious Roche Farma Laboratory, we began to study all the information about tinnitus published by official sources in order to corroborate beliefs and discard myths.
In MUNDO TINNITUS you can find the results.
But, what is the aim of MUNDO TINNITUS?
The main goal of MUNDO TINNITUS is to provide people with tinnitus or those around them with proven and reliable information based on available studies published by official bodies, in order to inform and discard misleading information on a condition that leaves the door too open to myths and opinions and this means that, in the absence of more conclusive research, they end up being accepted as true.
The site’s main objective is to equip the reader with the ability to discern between what has been proven and what has not been so far, in terms of the causes of tinnitus and its possible treatments.
In this respect, the ultimate goal of MUNDO TINNITUS is the proven and truthful provision of information.
What methodology does MUNDO TINNITUS follow before publishing each article?
It is a reality that the Internet is full of pages that promise to have the solution for tinnitus and advise treatments without any scientific rigour.
These indications are not based on the study and analysis of the results of official research available, but represent irresponsible recommendations that deviate from reality and that can cause readers to make decisions that are not based on real facts.
In MUNDO TINNITUS we only publish two types of articles: articles based on proven studies and articles based on personal experiences, both well differentiated and marked as such.
Thus, the entries based on opinion or experience are under the category of “Testimonies” while the articles based on contrasted scientific studies carry the “Scientifically Proven” label in the lower right, indicating that MUNDO TINNITUS has carried out the review and analysis of published studies available or that it is the statement of a specialised expert.
For each published article, the process carried out is as follows:
1. Compilation of existing articles on the subject provided only by official sources (BTA, NCBI, ITJ, etc.).
2. An exhaustive study of each publication and presentation of relevant ideas and results obtained in the experiments carried out.
3. Analysis and comparison of results.
4. Publication of the summary of conclusions.
5. Publication of the sources.
In this way, the reader can ensure that the information in MUNDO TINNITUS comes only from contrasted sources and not from the compilation of other online sites, in order to have a faithful and truthful understanding of a condition that has bewildered more than 1 billion people around the world.
